THERE ARE NO ACCIDENTS

Why do people call them accidents? On the news last night they said "family killed in terrible traffic accident". In fact a drunk ran a red light and t-boned thier minivan killing 4 people. This was not an ACCIDENT! In reality there is no such thing as a traffic accident. People speeed, run red lights, weave in and out of traffic, tailgate etc. then when something happens rather than taking responsibility they just say, "It was an accident". We live in a society where nobody has to take responsibility for thier actions. We simply blame everyone else. "Accidents" are caused by selfish people with no regard for others. If we started holding people accountable for thier poor driving perhaps the number of "accidents" would decrease. I bet if the guy responsible for the deaths described above spent the rest of his life in prison others might get the message. If "soccer mom" who rear ends someone while on the cell phone cannot drive for a year she might put the cell phone down the next time she drives.
